By chance I found this website today. I've had much pleasure trawling through the blog and watching various videos. I met Esther Abbott in 1978 when I came from the UK, along with my baby son, to visit Carl and his wife at that time in Santa Cruz. It was a magical trip and Esther made me very welcome, telling me wonderful tales and showing me her lovely paintings on wooden shingles. I could have sat in her little house listening to what she had to say for hours. I knew she was not the usual older person when I saw her car licence plate - "IMQWIK"! I remember her house was lovely, tiny and filled with lots of mementoes. I often wondered what happened to her and her family once Carl and my friend parted ways and I pleased to see that he has remained true to himself (despite the fact that he and I didn't exactly see eye to eye!) and that Esther continued to have a good life for many years. I have a few lovely photos of Esther and that area in 1978 if either Carl or his family would like them.

I found your blog while researching some artwork that came into my resale store this morning. 1 piece is "Storm over San Xavier" signed Esther Henderson, and another is "White Mountain Majesty" signed Chuck Abbott. And they are just beautiful! It will be so nice to share some info about both of them to interested customers.

Thank you & Happy Thanksgiving

Oss! Luke and Kyle.
That's awesome!

Remember me? Two Years ago Luke loved my ToneWay post at my music Blog iwannabeafolksinger (http://goo.gl/agaFg). I wished please upload them to Youtube..and here they are!

Now I'm the hostess of @FitForLifeTV TwitterShow: art, excercise and nutrition for development. It started at my personal account @giselediaz. I got ill and due to the activity of the account, some friends helped me open @FitForLifeTV and a GroupTweet show started. I back to training and next week I'll continue with meetings, interviews and benefic workshop planning in order to have Fit For Life TV videos online soon.

Today Zen worked. Even though I stayed connected 3 hours when I ask God please, let my Internet work just for 10 minutes...I got the answer I was looking for. And not any answer. I GREAT Answer. I ran into you again after months of not using Facebook.

I'm sending an email with Fit For Life TV briefing. We'd love to have you as guest cocking and doing some musical kata and bunkai for the show. Ayimé! ;)

I was lucky to have won 12 original black and white photos that are stamps on the backs. Most are stamped Chuck Abbott Photo, with a statement, "Please Credit Chuck Abbott Photo..." Other are stamped in the same manner only using the name Esther Henderson. All of these were taken in Arizona. They have hand written titles on the back, such as, "Ponderosa Pine in Grand Canyon."

Hello Family,

Funny, I just found how to contact Maurice and family again through your site and have already sent him an email. I ambled here serendipitously as I just noticed that a video of our episode has been posted on you tube. I was in contact for a few years after our show but my numbers changed.

I have never spoken up about the show as we signed binding contracts where they stipulate that we will be sued for ungodly amounts of money if we reveal their editing tricks and the fact that the money doesn't need to be used the way we say so in show.

I absolutely stand by what you are uncovering here. I had my words spliced AND diced, and taken out of sequence, a tiny example to start from: our apt was shot to make it look like we lived in the whole apt complex. The funniest thing is that the Hawkins house in Buffalo was much bigger than our apt in Miami, as in three times the size big..so they would shoot the Hawkins abode from the front (narrow in front, long in length), and our apt complex of get this...16 apts from the side so you could see the entire complex. Even my own family thought I was living large in Miami! In the show they shot my incredulous face seeing the Hawkins family home (incredulous because I thought their house was nice AND big) and I remember saying so..only to hear different words come from my mouth.

They brought me to spas and told me to dance at a bar as they wanted to portray me as the pampered party loving ditz of a mother. In real life I hardly ever did any of that since I was basically raising my children alone (Marco was living/ working in New York), working, cooking, cleaning, training ( at the time i was getting a black belt in shotokan karate do) and did not have a babysitter ( couldn't afford one). In summary doing exactly what Marla was doing except without the help of a partner.

Believe it or not, I thought the episodes were going to center around family, education and nutrition as most of our time we spoke about sports (the daughter was seeking a basketball scholarship and the boys were football players), went to play together, watch the kids play, train in gyms...but their nutrition was unsuited for a healthy diet that would sustain long term athletic ability.

And then I wrote that letter. And my letter changed everything. I wish I could explain it, but am still too afraid to be prosecuted. Indeed they leave you no option to defend yourself and you have to be quite strong to take the volley of attacks which are very personal, very hurtful and hard to look away from.

I haven't seen the episodes since they aired. It was painful to see the worst excerpt on you tube.

Your blog here was like an island of respite for me and for that I am very grateful.

I wish you the best,

Henrietta

I just saw your episodes this week of Trading Spouses. I did not realize that this took place several years ago. I just wanted to say that what I took from this show was that the two families were very loving and close. Who cares about all the "differences"? Your love and respect for each other is admirable and America could stand to learn a lot from you both. I think the part that touched me the most was when Carl and Vickie spoke. I know that there is more to the story than shown but the look on Vickie's face made me realize what a good heart she has. And overall she seemed like a decent, loving woman and knows how to have fun. Her laugh is contagious! And Carl has a good soul and is obviously a great man to have raised such young, mature, sweet young men. Both families, albeit different life styles, have a done a great job raising their children. I wish continued closeness, love and a successful future to all of you. God bless you!
