Only once, did I push the boundaries of my stomach, which was at the buffet at the classy Chaminade. I wasn’t sure how much the bill would be, so I tried out almost every single thing there. (just a little bit of each, but it added up) Other than that, I’m usually always able to stop eating before I get full.
Anyway, there were two other occasions where I was had no idea that the thing I was eating would be more filling than I thought. First time was last year. I had just finished dinner and for dessert, I was in a cereal mood. However, we didn’t have cereal so I though, “Meh, I’ll use peanuts instead. That’s a good alternative.” Little did I know that 4 tablespoons of peanuts was 190 calories, and I poured out a whole bowl of ‘em. Then, I added some cocoa powder, sugar and milk. Then, I chowed down, pleased with myself of my cunning swashbuckling resourcefulness, completely unaware that 15 minutes later, I would be begging to be dead. “I’m ready for you Jesus!” I chanted in heavy “Uugggh…” breaths. Surprisingly, especially since my stomach ain’t the strongest, I managed to keep it down all night! Go me!
Surprisingly, I haven’t gotten that stuffed since… well, until yesterday. Usually on Sundays, we have cereal. Delicious stuff from Trader Joes. However, last week, at Costco, we got some Kirkland Signature Raisin Bran samples. They were so… pretty good, that we- Papa, just had to get a box.
So last Sunday, we opened up the box and poured it out. Usually, with the TJ’s cereal, we split it into three big bowls and all of us are able to finish our bowls. (with the exception of the bowl of course) So, this time, I had poured it into the three big bowls. After I took my bowl, got the milk, etc., I went into the living room. However, through the open door into the kitchen, I could see that Pa had poured the cereal back in the bag. He said that we should just take out what we want and have the rest another day. Well, not being enlightened about the richness of bran, I planned on finishing the whole bowl (about 4 or 5 cups). And finish the bowl I did. And so did following uncomfort. Ughh… Talk about capacity overload.
So… yeah. Just letting you know!
