Thanks folks. I appreciate all your inputs. (Something's wrong with the grammar in that last sentence, but oh well.)

For the immediate future, we're sticking with "A family tradition," partly because its nice and short and we had second thoughts about what "back porch" would mean to folks who don't jam. (And back porches are less common these days!) But, it's not final. If there's one thing that never changes when it comes to this project, it's that things always change.

As far as cookies go... I'm not a huge cookie connoisseur, but I do know Pacific Cookie Company makes scrumptious chocolate-dipped cookies, in many varieties (choc. chip, peanut butter, mint chip, lemon...) if that's your fancy...

I must admit, I do like the Borg one the best. Might be a little forward, though.

I love the last one -- borg-style mountain music. But seriously, I agree with you that "from our back porch to yours" is the best. I like it because it acknowledges that there's a relationship between the Abbott family and the folks you teach/help/support to play mountain music. Even tho I see an Abbott or two at Jamshop once a week, I'm guessing this relationship is even true for folks who've never met you but get song clips or buy books and CDs off the website. The other taglines are fine too, except I don't like "It's people music" -- it's either too cute or too political sounding for my taste.

See ya tomorrow!

Well, I really like Join the Tradition best. It makes it inviting to eveyone, and you don't have to have a back porch to partcipate. Before I put too much effort into coming up with some new ideas for you I am wondering just what kind, and size, of cookie we are talking about here. It's entertaining to read your blogs!

nice logo! the slogan i like best is "join the tradition." it seems the clearest in that it's an invitation to the layman to 1) see what the tradition is, and (2) become part of a family-oriented community of like-musiced people. anyway, that's what i think.
cheers,
