On Christmas Day, 2007, with the aid of driving instructor and mom Leslie, Kyle took advantage of the empty Costco parking lot to get in some driving practice. Luke reluctantly agreed to go along to film the proceedings when he realized he could bring and play his fiddle while Kyle was practicing. The result? A mildly entertaining video, I suppose…
This was my first time using Blip.tv’s video hosting service, which promises higher quality than YouTube. Hope it works OK.
And notice I said mildly entertaining…

very nice!
A genuine slice of Americana, beautifully filmed, and stunningly acted. Superb fiddle playing, sweet instruction, and kick ass driving. The iron-clad habit of using your turn signals, while admittedly not completely necessary on all occasions, is highly commendable, costs nothing, and will afford you the luxury of never having to decide whether you need to or not. With regard to the changing of drivers, I must agree with the narrator that it is usually customary for one person to exit the vehicle and walk around to the other side. While the method employed here is, as far as I am aware, not really illegal in any way, I somehow fear that it may be frowned upon by “sticks in the mud” the world over. All in all, a highly successful first driving lesson, and I look forward to the subject chauffeuring his family cross country to visit me at some future date.
Luke, you’re a brave man standing in the parking lot while Kyle drove around you. LOL just kidding.
Kyle you did a superb job driving on your first driving lesson, Leslie you did a terrific job instructing Kyle and Luke you did a fantastic job of narrator and impresario.
where is the disclaimer of no trees, light poles or pedestrians were harmed during filming ?
love you guys,
bob (unclebob)
Ohh, that’s a good one, unclebob… shoulda thought of it.
Luke
Did you drive barefoot?
Uhh… well, I can’t remember if driving barefoot is illegal, so let’s just say, I *may* have been driving barefoot.
It’s not: http://tafkac.org/legal/driving.barefoot/driving_barefoot.html
So much more control with just the big toe.
