In the fall of 2002, I took a physics class at Santa Cruz High School, and was loaned a textbook with an ID number of 32767. I realized that the giddy excitement I felt when I immediately recognized the number as equal to 215 – 1, or the largest value a 16-bit signed integer can hold, meant I might be a bit of a nerd.

When I take the electric readings at work and notice one that reads 32023, I point it out to co-workers. smiling, I say “look its palindrome” they look at me like I had lobsters coming out of my ears, they don’t get it or most likely they don’t care and aren’t the nerd I am.
